BDO’s most important asset is its employees. To enable them to develop further both professionally and personally, we must provide them with the correct opportunities for development. We approach this in a needs-oriented way and involve employees in selecting seminars, workshops and coaching sessions.

 

 

Our training programme consists of the following components:

 

LEARNING ON THE JOB

  • This form of learning shapes the majority of the normal working day. By mastering new tasks, employees gain experience. By working together in teams they are in the position to continually set themselves new challenges and learn from colleagues.

 

LEARNING OFF THE JOB

  • IN-HOUSE TRAINING PROGRAMME: From their first year with us, our professional employees take part in in-house training. These training events are customised to their various areas of professional competence and each year of employment. Together with colleagues at the same professional level of attainment, they are given the most important know-how for every day professional life in a condensed way by experienced fellow employees and a basis to enable them to assume new tasks in their teams.

 

OUR TRAINERS

The presenters at our in-house training sessions are our experienced employees. As an employee’s know-how and professional experience accrues, they may have the opportunity to take on this important responsibility themselves.

  • STUDYING FOR PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Hand in hand with our internal training programme, we offer employees external courses to help them on their way to a professional qualification. And no matter what the qualification – certified auditor, certified tax adviser, CVA, CFA or CISA – BDO supports the employee with an individual training budget appropriate to the qualification being sought.
  • CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION: In addition to courses aimed at professional qualifications, there are ongoing internal training sessions on new developments and the opportunity to attend external seminars, conferences and courses.

 

LEARNING THROUGH COMMUNICATION:

  • Formal and informal exchanges between employees and our management team is extremely important in BDO. Amongst other things, our professional trainee gatherings strengthen cohesion in the BDO team.

 

FURTHER PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT:

  • From manager-level upwards, we identify strengths and areas for further development by a process of locational and potential analysis and together with the employee draw up a personal development schedule for him or her. By way of a target-group specific management development programme, we help our young managers along their career path. A Young Leaders Academy, a so-called Directors’ Club and a partner academy provide our employees with the best possible platforms for them to develop their skills and abilities further in a targeted way.
